About
Ishwin Anand
I am a contemporary artist whose work explores memory, identity, resilience, and transformation. An alumna of Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, I work across mixed media, oils, acrylics, charcoal, and pen and ink, creating expressive figurative compositions in which vulnerability and strength coexist.
Based in Houston, Texas, I draw inspiration from nature, mythology, my travels, and the emotional worlds that shape our human experience. Through fractured surfaces, luminous forms, flowing drapery, and symbolic figures, I explore themes of grief, healing, belonging, faith, freedom, and renewal.
My practice reflects my belief that beauty can emerge through imperfection and that our identities are continually reshaped by experience. Through my work, I hope to invite reflection, conversation, and connection across cultural boundaries—and to reveal the universal human spirit that lies beneath our differences.
I have had the opportunity to present my work in several exhibitions and my paintings have found their way into private collections in India and the United States. It is deeply meaningful to know that my work continues to connect with people beyond the studio.
